Skills to Succeed

Our Skills to Succeed initiative reflects Accenture’s end-to-end commitment to the global workforce—from students to experienced workers adapting to the shifting landscape.

We are proud that in fiscal 2019, we surpassed our goal to equip more than 3 million people by 2020 with the skills to get a job or build a business.

We are continually evolving Skills to Succeed to meet changing market needs and to support people throughout their career life cycle.

Next generation

We are preparing the students of today to be the leaders of tomorrow. Through skills-building activities, we aim to inspire belief in the power of technology—and to help students learn how to leverage tech to improve the way the world works and lives.

Building 21st century skills with AIME

As National Partner of AIME since 2014, we’ve invested $580,000 helping more than 2,500 Year 12 students complete school, resulting in a $5.2m economic benefit.

Australian Business Community Network (ABCN)

We defined ABCN’s digital strategy to build capabilities, extend their reach and achieve their vision to connect with more than 12,000 disadvantaged students by 2023.

Increasing digital confidence in young people

Partnering with Accenture and the DQ Institute, the Alannah & Madeline Foundation will give young Australians and New Zealanders the skills to thrive in a digital world, launching a high quality educational and teaching program in early 2021. It will be available to all students aged 11-14 across Australia and New Zealand and will be replicated in a third country in South East Asia, reaching 150,000 students.

This world-first collaboration will see students have access to a new eSmart Digital Licence, an interactive eLearning platform which helps students become smart, safe and responsible online and which is part of the Foundation’s eSmart framework.

The Foundation’s CEO Lesley Podesta said "The support from Accenture and the DQ Institute will enable us to bridge the digital divide which contributes to inequity in education and limits future opportunities for so many children. This ground-breaking partnership will ensure the next generation will be able to be part of the global economy."

First jobs and apprenticeships

Through training, internship and apprenticeship opportunities—including at Accenture—we are working to equip those who are looking for jobs with the right skills to fill open positions.

Creating pathways for indigenous young adults

We work with Career Trackers to help indigenous youth graduate from university with high marks, gain industry experience and build bright futures.

Major partner to New Zealand’s TupuToa

By providing skills and internships to 11 young people and employing 4, we are proud to provide meaningful pathways for Maori and Pasifika students.

Youth transition to employment program

We work with the Cerebral Palsy Alliance to provide holistic and customised support for young people and adults to reach their employment potential through coaching, skill building, training via work experience and help finding their dream job.

We delivered over 400 hours of free youth coaching, hosted Career Labs with Accenture people and guest speakers and offered training through the Skills to Succeed Academy.

Over the last 4 years our people banded together to raise over $250,000 as part of a step challenge fundraiser—taking over 600 million steps to support the Cerebral Palsy Alliance.

Technology and society

Australian Red Cross

After a challenging start to 2020, Accenture partnered with the Red Cross to build greater resilience across the organisation, operationally and in its strategic priorities.

Skills to Succeed Academy

The Skills to Succeed Academy is a free, online learning tool leveraged by our NFP partners to empower jobseekers to take ownership of their career journey and succeed in the workplace.

Save the Children

We have co-developed "Better Careers Through Extended Reality," an immersive virtual reality mobile app that allows young job seekers in Vietnam to envision new careers, using 360-degree video.

Experienced workers learning new skills. Skills to Succeed is preparing the workforce of today for the workplace of tomorrow.

Mentoring for Many Rivers

In addition to mentoring small businesses, we developed a LinkedIn strategy and a scalable technology platform to improve brand and business processes.

10 years of career support to Dress for Success

As the longest funding and pro bono partner and most significant corporate supporter, we collaborate to help jobseekers understand the digital world.

Good Return—My money tracker

Empowering financially disadvantaged Cambodians through innovation, our teams created a digital tracker that empowers low-income Cambodians to become more aware of their personal and business spending, enabling them to make more informed and mindful financial decisions.
