Mauro Macchi serves as chief executive officer of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and is a member of Accenture’s Executive Committee. He has nearly 35 years of experience driving business transformation, technology innovation and growth for the world's leading companies across international markets.
Prior to this role, Mauro led Accenture’s ICEG region, which includes Italy, Central Europe and Greece, and served as CEO of Accenture Italy. During this period, he led the ICEG region to double-digit growth by implementing reinvention programs for leading companies in the public and private sectors.
Before leading ICEG, Mauro served as Strategy & Consulting Lead for Europe, driving and overseeing the growth of the firm’s advisory and consulting services while strengthening industry differentiation across the region. He also was the head of Financial Services for Europe and ICEG, driving growth and transformation for the region’s leading banking and insurance clients. He also led Accenture Strategy for Banking globally, partnering with leading financial institutions to strengthen performance, growth and competitive advantage.
Mauro has served as a director on the board of Fondazione ItalianaAccenture for the past eight years.
Mauro holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine.
