Accenture is at the cutting edge of offerings in utilities, and our people are at the forefront of analytics and looking at things from new perspectives. It’s exciting to see how things are changing; take the telephone industry for example, transforming its heavy infrastructure as fewer use landlines. Utility companies are looking toward grid modernization, and intelligent grid is a focus for us.
There is also a growing need for grid security, and not just from cyberthreats. There’s an enormous amount of data out there, and we’re guiding our clients into the New, helping them understand their new data collector role and how they can best manage and use that data.
While the work is exciting and always different, it’s the culture that really impresses me. People talk about a people-first approach—being able to bring your whole self to work. It’s 100 percent true. And the unrivaled training and development opportunities keep my skills fresh and relevant.
There’s also a good understanding that we all have a work life, and we all have a personal life, and leaders work with you to help maintain balance. When I joined Accenture, I was blown away by how women at higher levels than me were managing to successfully juggle career and family life.
