John Walsh believes that the best leaders have a vision and lead from the front, inspiring others to follow. This is what he tries to do every day as Accenture’s chief strategic accounts and global sales officer, where he is responsible for creating value and driving sales growth with many of the world’s largest and most innovative companies. He is also a member of Accenture’s Global Management Committee.
John plays a critical role in building momentum across the business and delivering the best results for clients on a global scale. In fiscal year 2020, Accenture delivered a record $49.6 billion in new bookings—a double-digit year-over-year increase.
Prior to assuming his current role, John served as group chief executive officer of Accenture’s $10B Communications, Media & Technology (CMT) business, where he established the vision and strategy for sales and revenue growth and worked closely with the company’s most important ecosystem partners and key clients.
Outside of Accenture, John has served as director on several boards, including Vlocity, a cloud unicorn acquired by Salesforce for $1.3 billion in February 2020, and Adchemy, acquired by Walmart.com in 2014; and the Churchill Club, one of Silicon Valley’s most prominent non-profit organizations. He graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Business Administration, Marketing and Finance.
