Jaime Ardila, a member of Accenture’s board of directors since August 2013, was formerly executive vice president and president of General Motors’ South American operations, reporting to the company’s chief executive officer, and a member of the General Motors Executive Committee from 2010 until his retirement in March 2016.
Jaime is a seasoned executive who was with General Motors for almost 30 years. Prior to being appointed executive vice president and president of General Motors South America in 2010, Jaime was president of GM’s operations in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. Previously, he was vice president and chief financial officer for the Latin America, Africa and Middle East region.
Jaime first joined General Motors in Colombia in 1984 and spent all but two years between then and his retirement with the company, serving in a variety of financial and senior executive positions—primarily in Latin America, as well as in Europe and the United States. Between 1996 and 1998, he was with N M Rothschild & Sons Ltd., establishing the investment bank’s Colombian business before rejoining GM. He also worked in the Colombian government at the beginning of his career.
In addition to serving on Accenture's board of directors, Jaime is chairman of the board of Goldman Sachs BDC, Inc. and chairman of the board of Nexa Resources S.A. Jaime previously served on the board of Ecopetrol S.A. from 2016 to 2019.
Born in Colombia, Jaime holds a Master of Science in economics from the London School of Economics and earned his B.A. in economics from Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogota, Colombia.
